Electric motor testing


Modern equipment with VFD drives has often involved bearing currents and electricity with “poor quality”. This can lead to expensive breakdowns. By working with electrical motor analysis the machine run-time will increase.

In this course the participants will learn how to measure:

  • Stator windings
  • Isolation
  • Rotor windings
  • Air gap
  • Power quality
  • Eccentricity

We also discuss how to solve these problems.

Purpose: To learn how to use measurement instruments to find electric related faults in machinery and understand how different types of operations are affected by electric related faults.

Aim: After the course the participants shall be able to use different measurement instruments to identify and understand different kind of problems and be able to suggest how to improve the situation.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of electric power.
