Yesterday was a good day despite the virtual space problems at this site.
I made routine data collecting first at a small refrig. screw compressor where data first was collected before refurb. after 45000 hours. It was not that bad then, could have run another 20KHours but refurb. was ordered.
Now measureing after the refurb. there is always a risk that something is worse but in this case all was green except a point close to a small return pipe for oil where the pipe was up to 10mm/s. Adding a nice chrome steel part found in the workshop w. 3 hose clamps detuned it and the level at that point in machine was down from 1.5 to 0.8 mm/s and all levels was at like 25-50% less than before refurb. Everybody happy.
Next was 2 larger similar compressors and a pump brand new.
When a screw compressor ends up at less than 2 and 2.5 mm/s it is not a thing I see every day due to pulsations always a higher level is expected.
All points green, everybody happy.
Maybe a lucky case or have some designers learned something, horrible thought . Or is my normal world with crazy designs just special cases
So it was a nice sunny day when work was done a bit to quick as they were by the hour. Still nice to see that there are good machines once in a while . Olov
